This session provides a focused overview of how clinical, regulatory, and legal risks develop within skilled nursing facilities, and the critical role the Director of Nursing (DON) plays in mitigating them.
Through the lens of a real-life claim, participants will examine how breakdowns in early recognition, response consistency, and follow-through contribute to adverse outcomes, citations, and liability exposure. The session will also highlight how surveyors, insurance carriers, and plaintiff attorneys evaluate leadership actions as patterns—not isolated incidents.
